New 55-Gallon Aquarium!

I'm thrilled to finally have my new 55-gallon aquarium! It's been a long time coming, and I'm so excited to share updates on my aquatic companions. It's currently home to a diverse group of fish and other creatures.

The tank currently houses two angel fish, seven danios, two Corydoras, a rope fish, two dwarf gouramis, a pleco, and a shy snail. I'm aiming for a fully planted, natural-looking tank eventually.

Unfortunately, one of my angel fish had to be rehomed due to fin-nipping behavior. The others are now recovering. The transition to a planted tank will be a project in itself; so much to learn!

Sylvanas the Bearded Dragon Update

Sylvanas, my bearded dragon, is doing wonderfully! Initially, she was a picky eater, refusing food for several weeks. Now, she's quite the opposite – a true pig!

She's fearless and eats anything I offer. In fact, only my husband feels comfortable handling her; her demeanor is a bit intimidating to me.

Sylvanas has a fantastic appetite and is thriving in her environment.

Mr. Sterling the Ball Python & Other Reptiles

Mr. Sterling, my banana ball python, is also doing well, though he's a much more selective eater than Sylvanas. He takes his time inspecting his food before consuming it.

He's a much gentler snake than Sylvanas. I feel comfortable letting friends handle him.

Percy, my leopard gecko, remains in her 20-gallon long tank. She's not overly active, but enjoys being held and is growing beautifully.

Zaz the Bearded Dragon: Health & Habitat

Zaz, my other bearded dragon, is thriving but has a unique history. She had to have 35-36 calcified eggs removed due to early egg production.

She does not have sand in her tank due to impaction risks and currently prefers dubia roaches, superworms, and hornworms for her diet. She also receives daily baths.

Her tail tip is slightly unusual – she had it when I adopted her. I’ll continue to monitor her health closely.

Dexter the Crested Gecko and Canine Companions

Dexter, my crested gecko, has become much more comfortable. He initially hid a lot, but now he even hops onto my shirt during feeding time.

Maui, my 5-month-old puppy, is an amazing dog! I never imagined I’d find such a wonderful dog. He gets along famously with Sam.

Sam, my older dog from 2011, continues to be a delightful and cuddly companion. It's clear that Maui and Sam are a wonderful pair.
